The Most Meaningful Christmas 2010

My first Christmas here in Singapore in 4 years. Overwhelmed by a sense of disappointment and somewhat, sadness, to not be able to spend a cold winter Christmas (and soon-to-be New Year) in my beloved Japan.

Nevertheless, the Lord had blessed me with the most meaningful Christmas ever. In the morning, I attended the 11.15am Christmas service which was also the baptism service, where I witnessed my course mates being baptised. Praise Lord for their baptism!



































The ladies had it the "easier" way - 'down' into the water







































































































The guys had it the "tougher" way - 'backwards' into the water















































I was reminded of my own baptism back in 2001 @ St. John's Chapel. Mine was the "backwards" style. LOLx~ That very Christmas evening I watched an awesome Christmas concert with 3 non-believing friends.

The following day, I attended my Mum's church, and watched her perform in a skit for her church's Christmas concert. Praise Lord for Mum's contribution. I'm so proud of Mummy~

Anyway...

"Happy New Year" - So to speak

As I walked into the Cathedral and hurried for the 9am Service, hmmm... Something seemed out of the ordinary. And what's up with those floral arrangements which looked like a bunch of ferns?! (no offence!) Oh!!! Advent!!! *Smacks Forehead*

The Season of Advent marks the beginning of the Liturgical year. Starting on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and concluding with Christmas Eve, Advent is the liturgical season of preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ (and preparation for Christmas celebration of His first coming).

The hangings in the Cathedral, the vestments of the clergy and even our church bulletin are changed to a royal purple - the liturgical colour of Advent. And yes, regarding the bunch of ferns arrangements, like the liturgical use of purple, the use of leaf decorations rather than floral marks the solemn character of this season.

As an Anglican, I am proud of the Anglican heritage & traditions, and coming from a High Church, the liturgy never fails to facinate & excite me. But I think, what's most important is to understand the meaning behind the liturgical activities & traditions, and their connections to the true worship of God, and our relationship with Him.

When the conversation ended, finally I could hold back no more and burst into tears.

The pain was so heart wrenching, I kept crying, "Lord help me, God save me..."

Arggg... So Ugly~

Annual Health Screening. Was stabbed (I mean poked) twice. 1st try, the nurse couldn't get to the vein and this was what happened to my left arm.



2nd try on my right almost failed to draw blood but thank God it was well. 1 week already and the bruise is still there. Getting worse maybe. Sob...

夏祭り2010

Went for my maiden Summer Festival here in this Summer-All-Year-Round Singapore. Made me really miss Japan a lot.

It's really nice of Buddy Sebastian and his Big Sis to join me. I always love their company. Couldn't have put on my Yukata so prettily without Big Sis too~














We attacked the food stalls first and bought lots of food. Itadakimasu~







































The sun was shining right in our face (even though it's evening time). Very 'Summer' indeed...













After we had our fill, it's time to explore around and watch the performances~

And I met some nice doll owners/ doll lovers who invited me to join their circle - Dolls of The Circle.
They brought their pretty girls with them to the event. So cute~

Anyway, seems like my (soon-to-be) boys would have friends to take pictures with and I would have guidance from experienced doll owners~ Very inspiring~ But first of all, I need to save up enough for my first boy leh...

Big Sis was very high on the Bonodori. We were dancing the Summer Festival dances with everyone else and it was really fun~

Then I met another Volks owner and her pretty kids. The girl's full of praises (except for the price haha...) for Volks. I know Volks offers good quality, but well, so far I haven't found a Volks sculpt which I like very much.

















I wore the Yukata home. Oh, nevermind the curious stares... Mummy thought her daughter's cute, so she took a picture of me outside my room.

















I squashed the Obi out of shape, but well, it's really beautifully tied. Thanks to Big Sis.

それゃヤバイぞ!










So, 7 ain’t just many people’s (including me) luckily number. It’s also a magic number that’ll help you live longer.

You sleep for more than 7 hours, you’re one and a half time more likely to develop cardiovascular disease.

You sleep lesser that that, you would’ve increased your risk of developing cardiovascular disease more than threefold!

So to say, on weekdays I’ll need to hit the sack by 11.45pm?! マジかよ!?
And according to an article I read on the recent Chinese papers, people who sit for more than 6 hours a day have a shorter lifespan.

Aiyooo!!! Good Lord, I love you with my heart and soul but I don’t think I’m ready to see you so soon. How?!

騙されちゃった。よかったねえ~~~

Already 5 episodes into the series and the excitement & mystery continue to heighten…


















Well, I just have to tip my hat to the producers. You see... When was the last time a whole fan base has been so totally and perfectly manipulated? It started off with the ending of the first season.

It was a perfectly reasonable ending nevertheless but also an ending leaving many fans feeling somewhat unfulfilled and sad. Then hopes were risen when news of a second season were released. Every one of us waited in anticipation.

The producers must have been laughing their asses off hearing & reading about rabid Sebby x Ciel fans going into despair (I was one of those) and trashing the new characters Claude & Alois even before they were seen.


















I mean, check out the promo videos and the official website! “New master & a New butler” they said, and most importantly, absolutely no sighting of Sebastian & Ciel!!! Gyaaa…

Then 3 quarts into the 1st episode, unsuspecting fans were in for a humongous surprise. Kyaaa~































Our beloved Sebby & Ciel were introduced back into their new season in the most beautiful and sweet manner~


























































 



And now??? People are ecstatic to know that they are back AND they want the once hated Claude x Alois pair too?! The whole thing was such a strike of genius!
